PRACTICE |100 DAYS OF HAND LETTERING

goodawful:

So i’ve signed up to be a vendor at Designercon in Pasadena, LA November 2014. Gulp. I’ve never sold toys, let alone made any, seriously. It has been a goal of mine for a long long time but to do so I haven’t had that kick up the butt, that motivation, confidence and good ideas to get going and actually do it. I’ve been a collector of art / designer toys for a number of years which has sparked my interest in wanting to do it myself with my own character designs. Last year I had toyed at going back to art school to pursue it but found what was offered was not a structure where I thought i’d be able to achieve what I wanted. Having the deadline of the convention makes it real (and scary) for me. Since signing up the ideas have been flowing fairly well and early sketches for toy designs have started. Its going to be my world for the next 7 months or so. Having this site will give the me platform to share my progress or ‘road to Designercon’ as well document my specific process and inspirations. Lets see how this all goes, wish me luck! Double-gulp
